An Idea and a Design by J Gross

My name is Jerie. I am the creator of J.Gross shoe designs. I grew up on Long Island, the middle child of six. Growing up, I often admired my older sister Jamisha’s fashion sense. I was 12 years old, and remember, she had these multi-colored Nike Huarache shoes, and all I wanted, was to get my hands on them. After sneaking them from my sister's closet, and wearing them to school, I felt invincible, like I could do anything. I ran from class to class in Jamisha’s Huarache's, admired by my peers; that is until she discovered them missing from her closet. Unexpectedly, my sister showed up at my school and cornered me. She made me take off her sneakers, right there and then, and in front of everyone. I was mortified. It was that very moment that the conception and inception of designing shoes came to life. And so the journey begins…………
