I was born in 1994 in Chapel Hill, NC to recovering drug addicts that had a dream to give their child the WORLD! Taking a liking to poetry at age 8, I quickly grew to falling in love with rap music and urban fashion. Though I wasn't allowed to listen to it at home I wasted no time asking for my own radio for Christmas that same year and sneaking to watch the nearest BET video countdown on 106 & PARK. Nas's "One Mic" was the first rap song I ever remember hearing. Between that and Queen Latifa's sick ass wardrobe that defied all norms is the reason my love for Hip hop in general is nothing short of a damn near addiction! Taking chorus classes throughout my highschool career and going to Sallie B. Howard School of Art And Education grades 3-7 was just the beginning of what would grow to be the foundation of my music career. In 2010 at the age of 16 I was crowned the First Place winner of "Delaware's Teen Idol" for an original poem written for the show. My 11th grade year of high school, I applied to be a shoe designer with AliveShoes and was denied due to experience. I always wanted my love for fashion and Music to go hand in hand. Oftentimes I was told that due to my lack of artistic ability my dreams as a designer would be short lived. Still not letting that stop me, I began to show my fashion sense in my personal style. Married with children by 21, I began to help push my husband's music career. While it wasn't me following my own dream just yet, it was that drive, dedication, and originality that kept me closer to music than I had ever been. By 2018 living back home in North Carolina, I was sitting on 3 recorded but never released songs and so much written music and fashion potential with nothing but excuses of why it couldn't be made. Recording self videos of me spitting and only sending it to my friends, I was almost too scared to get out of my own way. Music was my love and allowing the world into that seemed threatening in the case that it wasn't publicly accepted, until one day my husband recorded me without my knowledge and posted it on social media. Though it wasn't viral the response was epic. It was at that moment I knew the excuses would run out. In 2019 my husband asked what was stopping me and I replied "there aren't any studios close enough for me to have time to get to them." By Christmas of that year, he supplied me with my own studio equipment and it was up and stuck from there. I began putting myself through "YouTube University" to learn how to record, mix and master my own vocals. Releasing music to soundcloud shortly after, I was all gas, no brakes. By July 2020 during the pandemic I had released my first EP, released singles for my husband, formed a team of local artists and became with child with a dream that can never be crushed. December 7th under the unofficial name of a label my team and I launched our own live social media Indie late night radio called "The NightCap", which ran for 20 episodes. December 31,2020 I stopped playing and applied for my LLCS and Vybe ADDICCZ Entertainment was officially born. Still recording, mixing and mastering my own vocals and learning along the way I now have 7 artist including myself all released on all platforms, have an artist that placed on Papoose's Mixtape, one artist competing in COAST2COAST, and others including myself performing locally. During the month of February I released a 28 song mixtape/album in which I dropped a song every single day of the month. Taking the time to continue investing, I am currently working on shooting my own music videos and dropping more music than ever. I look forward to continuing to make nothing but VYBES 1000 % OF THE TIME. Now with the VA FOOTWEAR COLLECTION I hope to get even closer to my fans, customers and supporters in a major way.
